Rothenbach Park is centered around an old landfill that has been covered and seeded with grass. The bike/hiking trail goes around the outer limit of the park and passes through a mile or two of what looks like old-growth trees covered with moss. It was a beautiful ride but the path has many twists and turns so you have to be pretty alert for people coming the other way. Once you get a few mile from the coast the vegetation turns thicker and more tropical looking so the ride remains cool and visually appealing. One of Sarasota’s undiscovered gems.
