Night Heron

This little guy was feeding in a break in some mangroves that serves as a boat launch.  As soon as I approached he darted back into the roots, and watched me from a distance.  According to a  bird identification web site I found (and as their name suggests) they come out to feed at night so I don’t know why I saw him in the middle of the day.

Even though the approaching cold front will bring a couple of very cold and rainy days the last few weeks have been almost perfect. It’s been weather for walking the beach.
