The Common Gallinule, formerly known as the Moorhen, is everywhere at the Celery Fields right now. The Purple Gallinule is not. When someone spots one it always creates a small crowd of photographers and bird watchers.
Yesterday there were a pair of them feeding just off of the walkway that leads out to the observation platform.
I tried to get photos that showed the iridescence of the feathers when they are in the sunlight.
