Purple Gallinule

The Common Gallinule, formerly known as the Moorhen, is everywhere at the Celery Fields right now. The Purple Gallinule is not.  When someone spots one it always creates a small crowd of photographers and bird watchers.

Yesterday there were a pair of them feeding just off of the walkway that leads out to the observation platform.

I tried to get photos that showed the iridescence of the feathers when they are in the sunlight.
