The area that I go to when I am looking for birds to photograph seems like it is having a population explosion of Marsh Rabbits. During a walk I took along a berm that separates two sections of a wetland I must have seen 15 – 20 rabbits. Coming back to my car there were probably another 10 or so along the sidewalk. And that is only for a total of about 1000 feet.
They aren’t exactly the cutest rabbits I’ve ever seen, and at first I wasn’t even sure they were rabbits. One fact I found on the web is that they are good swimmers and will dive into the water to escape predators.
