Whenever there are people fishing from the shore there are a few Egrets and Herons standing next to them. I have never seen anyone throw rejects to the birds so I’m not exactly sure why the birds are there. Maybe they see the fish being caught and assume that it is a good spot.
The small Egret in the picture is staring at the bucket of fish that one fisherman had caught that morning. The fish were covered with some sort of net, so there was no way the Egret was going to snatch up a meal. That didn’t stop him though. He stood there for a long time, looking like he was hypnotized. Like me when I open the freezer and see some left over ice cream.
