There is a park at the southern end of Lido Key where you can walk the beach, fish, or sit at some shaded picnic tables near the water. At the SouthWestern corner there is a patch of grass and low brush that stretches between the trees and the the beach. This Yellow Crowned Night Heron has been living at that one spot for some time now. As I walk past I usually see it standing near the grass casually watching the occasional person that strolls by, or just staring off into the distance. Sometimes it has a small Fiddler Crab that it has caught.
It seems to live a low stress beach-comber lifestyle where the crabs are tasty and plentiful and there is a lot of time to just chill out by the water.
