The Limpkin sounds a little like it was named by Dr Seuss.
They have a call that can break an eardrum if you are close enough. You would think a Pterodactyl was next to you. According to the allaboutbirds.org map they are mostly in South America and only show up in the US in Florida. Also, they live on a particular type of snail that is found in wetlands. Sort of a strange bird.
