A few days ago I was at the Celery Fields and someone pointed out this guy in some grass, maybe 30 or 40 feet from the boardwalk. It was like one of those visual puzzles you find sometimes where you stare right at a scene and can’t see the object, until finally it pops into view. It helped that the grass was green. When it is brown their feather pattern is fantastic camouflage. They also have the ability to remain motionless for long periods of time – just watching and waiting. I was able to grab a decent photo when it made a dash across some water.
